How to judge whether the temperature control performance of the fermentation tank meets the standard
Time: 2025-02-18

To determine whether the temperature control performance of the fermentation tank meets the standard, the following steps and indicators can be used for evaluation:

1. Check the temperature control range

The temperature control system of the fermentation tank should be able to accurately adjust and maintain the required temperature range according to different fermentation stages (such as main fermentation and post-fermentation). For example:

Beer fermentation usually requires precise control within the range of 10℃-20℃.

Wine fermentation may require adjustment within the range of 15℃-30℃.

Confirm whether the equipment can cover the target temperature range and whether it has sufficient accuracy.

2. Test the temperature fluctuation range

Method: Set the fermentation tank to a certain constant temperature (such as 15℃), and record the actual temperature changes after running for a period of time.

Standard: The temperature fluctuation of a high-quality fermentation tank should be less than ±0.5℃. If the fluctuation exceeds ±1℃, it means that the temperature control performance is poor.

3. Evaluate the heating/cooling speed

Heating speed: Test the time required to rise from low temperature to the target temperature. For small fermentation tanks, it should usually be completed within 30 minutes.

Cooling speed: Also test the time to drop from high temperature to the target temperature. Cooling efficiency depends on the configuration of the refrigeration system and the target temperature should generally be reached within 1 hour.

4. Check temperature uniformity

Install multiple temperature sensors at different locations inside the fermentation tank (such as the top, middle, and bottom) to observe whether the temperature at each point is consistent.

Standard: The temperature difference inside the tank should be less than ±0.5℃, otherwise it may cause uneven fermentation.

5. Check the insulation effect

Method: After turning off the heating or cooling system, observe the rate of temperature drop or rise in the tank.

Standard: The insulation layer of a high-quality fermentation tank is well designed, and the temperature change rate should be slow, usually not exceeding ±0.5℃ per hour.

6. Refer to historical data or comparative experiments

If there is historical data of similar equipment, it can be used as a reference to compare the performance of the current equipment.

Or through comparative experiments (such as using two devices for fermentation at the same time), intuitively evaluate the pros and cons of temperature control performance.
